A kitten with a mischievous grin emerged from its shell and started to sparkle once it no longer felt the need to conceal itself.
Uno the kitten and Hagrid the cat were two unlikely best buddies brought together by a stroke of fate. Their story began when Jen, a dedicated foster parent for City Dogs and City Kitties Rescue in Washington DC, received a call about a tiny kitten with a damaged eye in urgent need of help.
City Kitties wasted no time in stepping up to rescue the little one. Jen rushed to the shelter to pick up the kitten and immediately took him to an emergency vet for treatment. Despite losing one eye, the kitten showed resilience and quickly adapted to life indoors.
Slowly but surely, Uno and Hagrid’s bond grew stronger as they navigated through life together, proving that sometimes the most unexpected friendships are the most heartwarming.
Jen, known as @pokeypotpie online, welcomed Uno, a tiny six-week-old kitten weighing just 1.5 pounds, into her home. Uno was feeling anxious and fearful after surgery, in need of extra care and comfort.
Ian, Jen’s husband, stepped in to provide Uno with some love and reassurance. He dedicated plenty of time to be with the little furball, showing him that he was in a safe and loving environment.
Jen, also known as @pokeypotpie, shared how Uno easily adapted to his pirate lifestyle but took some time to become comfortable around humans. To help Uno get used to people, Jen would carry him around in her sweatshirt. Uno would often hide in unexpected spots, but now he confidently rules the household, which Jen finds amusing to reflect on.
Jen, known as @pokeypotpie on social media, noticed that Uno was really starting to enjoy the comforts of indoor living. He was thrilled to have regular meals, a comfortable bed for napping, and foster parents who showered him with affection. When it was time for Uno to meet the other cats in the household, he felt a bit hesitant about exploring new areas. Jen stepped in to help him adjust to the wide-open spaces by guiding him around the house like a chauffeur.
Jen, also known as @pokeypotpie, observed Uno as he cautiously explored the various rooms before finally venturing out to watch the other cats. Hagrid, a seasoned resident cat, took Uno under his wing, offering guidance, imparting courage, and sharing valuable feline knowledge for a fulfilling life ahead.
Jen @pokeypotpie shared an update that Uno had to undergo a second surgery a few weeks after the initial one. This time it was to address some eye issues related to the incision site. The surgeon wanted to ensure that everything was removed to prevent any chance of infections.
The result of the surgery was an endearing little ‘sneer’ on Uno’s face. The skin was pulled tight, causing his upper lip to lift upwards, giving him a cute and mischievous appearance. Over time, the ‘sneer’ is expected to lessen as the skin stretches out. But for now, it just adds to Uno’s charm and playful look.
Jen’s post on Instagram tells the heartwarming story of Uno being welcomed by Hagrid and Pokey into their cozy cuddle puddle during his healing process. Uno didn’t hesitate to join in, cone and all, as he received some affectionate smooches before settling in for a peaceful nap with his new friends.
Uno happily snuggled up in the snuggle fest with Hagrid and PokeyJen over at @pokeypotpie’s place. After recovering beautifully, Uno is loving life in his temporary home. His eye has fully healed with no complications, and his charming personality is radiating bright. Despite having asthma, Uno manages it well with his inhaler and never misses a dose. His boundless energy is infectious, as he zooms around the house like a speeding bullet and surprises everyone with his playful antics.
Jen, under the handle @pokeypotpie, shared how Uno loves to play around with his foster brother Hagrid and has also made friends with a pair of cute foster kittens. Uno’s playful, energetic, and charming nature makes him an absolute delight to be around, according to Jen.
Jen from @pokeypotpie shared that Uno has become a beloved member of their family for nearly five months. She cannot emphasize enough how much they adore him, with his unique, charming, and lovable personality. Every time she sees his cute little pirate sneer, her heart just warms up with affection.
Jen @pokeypotpie shared that the small fellow is courageous, humorous, endearing, and simply loves being right in the middle of the action. “Even though Uno may come across as a mighty pirate, deep down he’s like a precious little infant. Whoever gets to adopt him is in for a real treat!”
Hey everyone, help spread the word! Uno is on the search for his forever home full of love. Keep up with Uno and his cool cat buddies by following them on Facebook and Instagram @pokeypotpie.
