Three young cats made a remarkable comeback and underwent a beautiful transformation thanks to the guidance and care of two motherly felines.
Bear the cat and his foster kitten Jennifer @newkittensontheblock have quite the unique origin story. Two months back, three tiny kittens found their way to IndyHumane, an animal rescue in Indianapolis, Indiana. Despite their bedraggled appearance, these kittens displayed a remarkable will to thrive and seek attention.
It seems these kittens had been fending for themselves outdoors for a while before ending up at the rescue. “They were underweight and covered in grime when I first saw them,” shared Jennifer, a dedicated foster volunteer at the shelter, with Love Meow.
Bringing them home, Jennifer started nourishing them with frequent smaller meals every 5-6 hours, ensuring they could keep the food down and begin their journey towards recovery.
When the three kittens, Splash, Spritz, and Squirt, first arrived at the shelter, they were a bit scrappy. Splash, the smallest, had a big personality. Spritz was playful and resembled a playful gremlin. Squirt, the orange boy, was always seeking attention, wanting to be in someone’s lap and purring non-stop.
After receiving treatment for their tummy issues, the kittens were cleaned up and on the road to recovery. With their health back on track, it was time for them to meet Bear and Bodie, the resident cats at the shelter.
The new kittens were ecstatic to meet the household cats, Bear and Bodie, at their new home. One particular kitten, Squirt, with his orange and white fur, transformed into a bundle of pure happiness, showering everyone with love and affection. Always eager for cuddles, Squirt wasted no time in cozying up to the older cats for some instant feline affection.
Squirt received an abundance of affection from Bear, filled with licks and cuddles. According to Jennifer from @newkittensontheblock, Squirt enjoyed being held, snuggled, and showered with kisses. Bear reciprocated the love by allowing Squirt to head-butt him in the face.
Jennifer stumbled upon Bear and Bodie when they were just foster kittens. Their experience as orphaned kittens seems to have given them a special understanding of the needs of other kittens in similar situations.
Bear introduced the kittens to the ways of the feline world, offering them guidance in proper cat behavior and indulging them in countless grooming sessions. The kittens relished in the company of their mentors, purring contentedly as they were showered with attention. Check out this darling video of the kittens learning from their cat companions on YouTube! Despite Spritz and Splash attempting to mimic the older cats, Squirt was more focused on wriggling his way into cuddles with his new feline friends.
Jennifer from @newkittensontheblock shared a video of Bear showing the kittens his feather toy skills, which left them in awe. Later on, they snuggled up next to him in the cat tree and enjoyed some Bird TV from the window.
Jennifer from @newkittensontheblock shared an update on the kittens who had spent seven weeks in foster care. During this time, they had transformed into joyful and thriving young felines, eager to begin their quest for their permanent families.
In just seven weeks, the trio underwent a remarkable transformation according to Jennifer from @newkittensontheblock. She marveled at how the babies had evolved from messy little rugrats with bloated bellies to their current state. Jennifer expressed fondness for the judging looks she received from the trio.
Jennifer, the owner of @newkittensontheblock, happily announced that all three kittens have been successfully adopted by loving forever families and are flourishing in their new homes. Bear and Bodie, the resident cats, are delighted by this news and are eager to continue welcoming and assisting more kittens in need.
